The Obsidian Frame is a geometric self-watering planter that doesn't particularly care whether you put a plant in it. The asymmetric pentagon frame rises from a low open planting trough — deliberately off-balance, leaning slightly to one side, the kind of shape that makes you look twice to work out how it's standing. Every surface is covered in a deep cracked-stone texture, the kind of finish that looks like something excavated rather than printed.
Underneath that exterior is a functional self-watering system. The frame body doubles as a reservoir — fill it through the port at the top edge, and a capillary wick draws moisture into the soil at a steady pace, keeping your plant watered without any further effort from you. The planting trough sits open at the front, low enough for compact plants to sit within the frame's negative space rather than above it — which is where the piece really comes into its own. A small succulent or trailing plant framed inside that geometric void looks considered in a way that a standard pot simply doesn't.
It works on a shelf, a desk, or a windowsill. It also works empty, as a standalone sculptural object, which is not something we say often about a plant pot.
